$350,000.00 COPPER CATHODES STOLEN IN SERENJE

Unknown people in SERENJE district of central province have stolen 32 tonnes of copper cathodes from Kikongo Transport Company Limited, a Tanzania based company valued at $350,000.00 whilst in transit from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Tanzania.

Central Province Police Commissioner Davide Mukuka Chileshe disclosed that The cathodes were loaded on a TATA truck Reg No. T438DML and trailer Reg. No. T180CNG driven by Male Arnold Melkiory Kimario of Tanzania who was not found at the truck when it was discovered at Mulilima in Serenje.

Mr Chileshe revealed that police Received a report made on behalf of the company by Mr. Golden Phiri aged 53 of Material compound Kapiri Mposhi who is an agent for Said Transport company.

He said the incident happened between 21/01/23 at Kasumbalesa border and 23/01/23 at 13:40 hrs at Mulilima in Serenje.

Meanwhile, police have instituted Investigations and a manhunt has since been launched for the driver.
