A 87-year-old man buys a new coffin for his ‘future’ burial, says the two he bought earlier are now old-fashioned
A new coffin was purchased by an 87-year-old man from Busia, Kenya, for his “future” funeral service.

According to reports, the guy known as Aloise Otieng’ Ng’ombe spent Ksh58,000 on a casket for his funeral.

According to K2TV, Aloise purchased coffins in 2009 and 2012. The new coffin, which is presently being stored at the father of 18 children’s shop in the Obekai neighborhood, will be used as the deceased’s final resting place because the previous coffins were outmoded.

He also disclosed that buying a coffin before his death will pass a message to members of the society. Aloise said;

“I want this to be a lesson to my community at large. You may lack basic needs when you are alive. But when you die, people will slaughter bulls, and buy you nice clothes and shoes yet you will be long gone. That is why I decided to plan for a send-off befitting my status in society.”
