Police arrest 2 more abduction suspects

TWO more people have been arrested in connection with the abduction of the 13 recently-rescued young women in Lusaka.

Five people are now in police custody although only two suspects James Bwalya Mathews Sikaonga both aged 22 have been identified by police.

Speaking at press briefing today, Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister Jack Mwiimbu however says it is difficult to establish the purpose of the abductions because of the relationship between the abductors and the victims shared the same school in recent years.

Mwiimbu said police are working hard to establish the motive behind the abductions and will keep the country informed.

He commended members of the public who worked with the police in apprehending some of the suspects.

The minister said the operation would not have been successful without the help of the members of the public.

Mwiimbu appealed to the public to join forces with police to help resolve the case.
He adds that the victims are still receiving medical attention and are in a stable condition.
