Sometimes people just hate you because you are not stupid enough for them to insult you. They sit and wait for you to make that one mistake or wrong decision for them to validate a position they have held about you. They look so hard for an opportunity to prove to everyone that you are not good enough.
When you say the right thing, they shift the focus to your actions, when your actions are right, they question the motive and when the motive is right they doubt your morality. They wrestle with facts just for them to be right about you.
You can’t make everyone your friend or agree with everyone, if you succeed with that, you may have lost yourself in the process. What does it profit a person to be everyone’s friend and lose the friendship with their own conscience?
Don’t be too hard on yourself, don’t push too hard to fit descriptions of you even when they are great, be who you really are and rejoice in the differences with the rest. Pursue your path even when no one is cheering you on. Give people the freedom to be wrong about you.
