The Patriotic Front have established that arrogance, hooliganism, cadrism and indiscipline are some of the factors which cost the party general election of 12th August, 2021.

PF Chairman for Information and Publicity Raphael Nakacinda said this at a press briefing following a central committee postmortem meeting held in Lusaka on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
He says the postmortem report established that arrogance, hooliganism, cadrism and indiscipline were causes of the electoral defeat.

In the election, the Patriotic Front was relegated to the opposition after ten years of being the ruling party.
The UPND are now the ruling party after Mr Hakainde Hichilema polled 2.8 votes at Presidential level compared to then President, Edgar Lungu’s 1.8 million votes.

However, Mr Nakacinda says the party fully accepts the postmortem report and all the members should work with all structures and remain united.
He is optimistic that the PF will be the only party that has lost a general election but is confident that it will bounce will back to power.

Mr Nakacinda says the Patriotic Front central committee wants all party members that have expressed interest in the position of the presidency and indeed any other portfolio to halt premature campaigns in the best interest of the party.

Mr Nakacinda says party member energies should be channeled towards rebuilding the party.- Diamond TV
