Patriotic Front PF Member of Central Committee Hon Brian Muntayalwa Mundubile has cautioned President Hakainde Hichilema against making Knee Jerk reactions to national development issues.
Speaking in an interview with Smart Eagles in Chipata today, Hon Mundubile who is also Opposition Chief Whip in Parliament said it is unbecoming of Mr Hichilema to continue making promises that are not informed by policy.
He stated that it was insincere the head of state to assure Catholic Bishops and others who attended the Consecration Ceremony for Auxiliary Bishop Gabriel Msipu Phiri Chipata that his Government would work on the dilapidated Vubwi road.
Hon Mundubile said that Mr Hichilema needed to first engage and consult experts at Infrastructure and ministry of finance considering that this year’s budget has a very minimal amount allocated to roads.
He said that the behavior of making Knee Jerk commitments is the reason why Zambians now loth the UPND Government and calling President Hichilema a liar in the first place.
“The President should seriously avoid making such kind of promises even when he is probed like he was during the event the best would have been to first take time to consult so he can make a standing policy pronouncement that touches on the entire nation” Hon Mundubile said.
The PF Party Presidential Election front runner said that the danger of being as hyper reactive as Mr Hichilema is that the chances of fulfilling promises made in a rush are very slim.
Hon Mundubile said that the challenges of bad roads should be addressed exclusive and inclusively considering the current budgetary restrictions on road construction countrywide.
He has further urged Mr Hichilema to govern the country in a structured form with proper guidance from experts and not rushing to react without proper information.
