BAROTSE ACTIVIST DEMANDS THE RESTORATION OF THE 1964 BAROTSE AGREEMENT
Mwanza Kaluwe, a Baroste activist as implored President Hakainde Hichilema to implement the Barotse 1964 Baratse Agreement.
Kaluwe said President Hichilema had pledged to restore Agreement once he assumed office.
He has written a 69 page docent arguing the case for the restoration.

I beg and implore you humbly and honestly on behalf of the Government of the Republic of
Zambia Your Excellency President HakaindeHichilema without dalliance, to repeal the
Constitution Amendment Acts (No. 5} and (No. 33} which unilaterally abrogated the
Barotseland Agreement of 1964( BA 64} dated 18th May, 1964 in its entirety.
The Government should take all necessary measures, (legal, administrative and any} forthwith
to commence therestitution of the Barotseland Agreement of 1964.
In 1970, Barotseland was renamed Western Province after the enactment of the Western
Province (Land and Miscellaneous Provisions} Act, No. 47 of 1970 which repealed it.
This entails enshrining the spirit and provisions of the Barotseland Agreement of 1964 in the
Zambian Constitution and repealing all legislation that belie the total reinstating and apply
implementation of the Agreement including the Constitution Amendment Acts No. 5 and No. 33
of 1969.
