Bill Maher Admits His Own Sister Cut Him Off After Trump Dinner
Bill Maher sat down with Michael Douglas and described what happened the moment his sister found out he had a private dinner with President Trump. She stopped talking to him.
Maher explained that his sister keeps MSNBC on all day and is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat. The second she learned he had been to the White House with Trump, the relationship froze.
“But my sister is like, you know, MSNBC is on all day. She’s just dyed-in-the-wool Democrat. So, like, when I saw Trump, it was like she just really didn’t want to talk to me.”
He tried to reason with her. All he asked for was one brief acknowledgment that dining with the sitting president is not nothing.
“And I was always just like, could we just, you know, give one minute of time to, it’s a little impressive that your brother is at a private dinner with the President of the United States?”
She would not give him that minute. Maher said he was fine being called an asshole afterward. He just wanted one second of basic recognition from his own sister before the lecture resumed.
“And then we can go right on to what an asshole I am. But just give me one minute to be, just impressed for one minute as my sister that, yeah, okay, that’s it.”
