Botswana sport minister Tumiso Rakgare and his Namibian counterpart Agnes Tjongarero have officially launched a joint bid to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Should BONA 2027 succeed, Namibia will host the opening ceremony and Botswana the closing spectacle.

Botswana will host 24 of the 36 group stage matches, while Namibia will host 12, with Botswana staging five of the eight round-of-16 matches, and Namibia three.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be shared equally between the two countries, while Botswana will host the third-place playoff and final.
