Former LUSAKA Province Minister BOWMAN LUSAMBO has been sentenced to four year imprisonment with hard labour for corruption, tax evasion and possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.
LUSAKA Magistrate FAIDES HAMAUNDU convicted Mr. LUSAMBO on nine out of 10 counts of corruption, tax evasion and possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.
Delivering the verdict, Magistrate HAMAUNDU, however, acquitted Mr. LUSAMBO’s wife NANCY MANASE who was jointly charged with him.
Magistrate HAMAUNDU has ruled that the prosecution has not proved the proceeds of crime charge against Mrs. LUSAMBO.

This is what we call methodical. This country was taken to the Dogs who thought it belonged to them and their children including relatives
Zwaaa!
Lusambo was another presidential political appointee without a job description. He didnt know what to do in his office so he would give himself chores that did not help his CV in any way. It was always over the top tasks like supporting everything Lungu blurted out or closing down bars when Zambia already has police to do that.
Exit PF and Enter UPND. They throw in Collins Mweetwa without a job description it is the same theatre, same play but different actors.
It is well when a dangerous criminal goes to jele. Lusambo was a pauper b4 he became minister and suddenly he was basking in weather, expensive cars, flashing money all over, wearing the most expensive perfume on Earth, mocking pipo who had been to school and yet, the chap had not worked b4. Let him go to jele and reflect. I’m sure he’ll come out a wise person
Retirees couldn’t get their money. Farmers in PF were just like slaves in their own country for they never enjoyed the benefits of their sweating . And yet the people who were entrusted with the governance and distribution of national wealth just shared amongst themselves and their families and only gave out crumbs to some destitute citizens who worshipped them by publicly shoutting their so called public recognition powerful titles like ”kasaka ka ndalamaa”, Bul, dozer , ATM etc
This is indeed very welcome news. Let the government be transparent in how they will utilise the seized assets.
And this should be a lesson to serving corrupt government officials that think UPND will be in power forever to shield them. The FIC report is alarming, as it appears the new breed of thieves are even more greedy than PF. After 2026, they will share same prison cell as Lusambo.
Vote wisely in 2026.
So, are you sure of coming to take back the country according to your own words in 2026?, by the time you come back a lot of things would have changed, even your family. Seven years is a long time.
It would be interesting to read the judgement and see the grounds for conviction. Has corruption been proven beyond any reasonable doubt?
SUSPECTED to be Proceeds of Crime or ACTUAL proceeds of Crime?
Who carries the burden of PROOF in a criminal case? Is it the accused to prove his Innocence or the accuser ( the state ) to prove the Guiltiness of the accused? The bar in this Economic Crimes Court has been lowered to dangerous levels…Build more prisons.
Finally a conviction of a thug.
We want more convictions and put all PF chikala’s in jail.
