BUSINESSES ENDURE EFFECTS OF DEPRECIATING KWACHA

By Lukundo Nankamba

Governance Activist Reuben Lifuka has noted the need for Zambia to immediately put in place a comprehensive anti-corruption strategy to help fight the vice.

Recently, Transparency International Zambia –TIZ- released the Corruption Perception Index –CPI- which revealed that Zambia has maintained its score on the 2022 CPI at 33 out of 100 for the third consecutive year.

Mr Lifuka notes that despite the UPND administration claiming to have done a lot to fight corruption since forming government in 2021, the recently released CPI clearly indicates that much has not been done in fighting the vice because the country has maintained the same position for the last three years.

He has since advised government to review the failures faced in fighting corruption and quickly develop systems that will improve the public service.
