CABINET OFFICE REVOKES HARRY KALABA’S INVITATION TO THE INVESTITURE CEREMONY AS HE IS NOT LEADER OF DP
23rd October 2021
Cabinet Office has withdrawn Harry Kalaba’s invitation to the National Honours and Awards Investiture Ceremony of the 57th Independence celebration to be held tomorrow at state house.
This came to light when DP Chairperson Judith Kabemba and Dp Secretary Justine Nkonge and Vice Secretary General Evance Chilambwe wrote a letter to Cabinet Office to remind them that Kalaba has no Locus Standii to represent DP at any function especially the one in question.
As DP we welcome the decision taken by cabinet office which was communicated by Mr Isaac Kasaro Director of State functions to withdraw the invitation card which was wrongly given to him
The decision taken by cabinet to withdraw the card and not to give to us the rightful leaders aswell, is a fair one.
It was wise for Cabinet to avoid intangling itself in the issue until the matter is fully settled.
We further want to inform the nation that the matter has been taken to High Court and the date for inter Party hearing is set for Friday 29th October 2021
Signed
Evance Chilambwe
Acting Deputy Secretary General
