CENTCOM WARNS OF BILLIONS IN FUNDS BEING MOVED AROUND U.S. SANCTIONS

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reportedly warned that Iran-backed groups and proxy networks including Hezbollah, the Houthis, Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), and other Shiite militias—are moving and transferring funds through networks designed to circumvent U.S. sanctions against Iran.

According to the warning, the financial flows involve billions of dollars, euros, and Chinese yuan, with funds allegedly being moved through complex regional and international channels to evade sanctions and sustain the activities of Iran-aligned armed groups.

The development highlights growing U.S. concerns over Iran’s financial networks and the ability of Tehran and its regional partners to maintain access to international funding despite extensive American sanctions.

Washington has repeatedly accused Iran and affiliated organizations of using front companies, informal financial networks, cryptocurrency, and other mechanisms to obscure the origin and destination of funds.

The latest warning could increase pressure on financial institutions, governments, and businesses suspected of facilitating transactions connected to Iran and its regional network.

🇺🇸 U.S. officials say disrupting these financial channels remains a key component of efforts to limit Iran’s ability to fund armed groups and expand its influence across the Middle East.
