OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has accused his sister, Ann Altman, of using her ongoing abuse lawsuit against him to attract social media followers and increase engagement on her online platforms.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Sam criticised Ann for allegedly sharing portions of her recent deposition on X, TikTok and other social media platforms. He is now asking the court to order her to confirm, within three days, that she has destroyed all confidential recordings and transcripts of the deposition. In the filing, Sam alleged that Ann and her legal representatives have repeatedly insisted that she should be allowed to publish the entire deposition video online, despite his objections.
He further questioned her motives for bringing the lawsuit, suggesting that the legal proceedings may have been intended to generate material that could attract traffic to her social media accounts and podcasts rather than pursue her claims through the courts. The legal dispute began when Ann filed a lawsuit accusing Sam of inappropriate carnal knowledge and abuse during their childhood, alleging that the incidents occurred when she was three years old and he was 12.
Sam has strongly denied the allegations. Ann is seeking unspecified damages, citing alleged post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while Sam has filed a countersuit seeking $1 in damages. Several members of the Altman family have also reportedly supported Sam in the ongoing legal dispute. The allegations remain contested, and the latest filing seeks court intervention over the handling of confidential deposition materials.
