CHINESE COMPANY TO SET UP CEMENT, CALCIUM POWDER PLANT
China Zambia Dejinxin Cement has planned to invest 170 million United States dollars into the Zambian economy.
The 170 million United States dollars will be used to construct a cement plant, a power plant, a mine and a high calcium powder plant.
China Zambia Dejinxin Cement Director Jianbao Zhao has indicated that the operation of the cement plant is expected to commence next year in November 2025.
Mr Zhao who spoke through an interpreter Li Cheng said over 1000 jobs are going to be created during the construction stage with over 500 permanent jobs expected to be created once operational.
ZANIS reports that Mr Zhao said this during the signing of the Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement (IPPA) with the Zambia Department Agency (ZDA).
ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa commended China Zambia Dejinxin Cement for choosing to invest in Zambia.
