đżđ˛ BRIEFING | Church Urges Lusaka Mayor to Ignore Witchdoctorsâ Threats
The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has urged Lusaka Mayor Chitambala Mwewa not to be intimidated by reported threats from traditional health practitioners and witchdoctors over his efforts to improve the cityâs cleanliness.
EFZ Executive Director Reverend Allan Kasungami said the Church supports the mayorâs initiatives and continues to pray for him.
âThe mayor should not be intimidated by such threats because he is covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. We continue to pray for him, and he should remain focused on doing what is right for Lusaka,â Kasungami said, according to the Zambia Daily Mail.
He urged stakeholders opposed to the mayorâs initiatives to pursue dialogue rather than intimidation.
Meanwhile, Triumphant Church of All Nations pastor Kenny Nsakilwa said differences in religious and traditional beliefs should not prevent cooperation in improving the city.
Nsakilwa called on traditional health practitioners, civic leaders and residents to resolve disagreements peacefully and contribute to Lusakaâs development.
