Former Transport and Communications Minister Hon Mutotwe Kafwaya has thanked the Constitutional Court for remaining consistent with all judgements referencing the Presidential eligibility.
Yesterday, the Constitutional Court ruled that President Edgar Lungu can stand for reelection in August, throwing out a second opposition challenge to his eligibility on the basis of the constitutional two-term limit.
Hon Kafwaya, who is Lunte PF Parliamentary candidate, tells Smart Eagles in an exclusive interview that if anyone is still in doubt, the court has unequivocally declared President Edgar Lungu is eligible to contest presidential elections this year.
Hon Kafwaya says this now means that; there should be no more wasting of time.
“UPND should now climb a steep mountain of telling people why? (1) they have plagiarized manifesto (2) this plagiarized manifesto does not even recognize God (3) they did not support youths, women and persons with disability in the constitutional amendment (Bill 10.),” He said.
