COURT HEARS HOW STATE AGENTS PREVENTED THE ARREST OF EDGAR LUNGU’S BARBER

The Lusaka High Court has heard how state agents prevented the arrest of murder suspect Shebby Chilekwa, based on his relation with the former President, Edgar Lungu.
Mr. Chilekwa before his arrest was President Lungu’s barber.
He is being prosecuted alongside former Patriotic Front (PF) Deputy Secretary General, Mumbi Phiri for allegedly murdering a UPND supporter, Lawrence Banda in 2019.
A police officer, Uyoya Simunza has told the court that then Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kankanja and the Police Commander were made aware of the incident that led to the death of Mr. Mkandawire, but could not do anything because the suspect was President Lungu’s barber.
Superintendent Uyoya was testifying in a matter in which Former President Edgar Lungu’s aide de camp Chisanga Chanda has been accused of assisting a murder accused Shebby Chilekwa.- Diamond TV
