Tanzania superstar Diamond Platnumz is laughing all the way to the bank. The East African hitmaker earned close to $100,000 for a 10-minute performance in Kenya.
Diamond, whose real name is Nasibu Abdul Juma, performed at Raila Odinga’s last political rally ahead of tomorrow’s general election. Many Kenyan artists are furious about the huge pay despite his electrifying performance at a fully packed stadium in Nairobi.
They feel devalued since none of them could have earned that amount of cash at a political rally. What do you make of Raila Odinga’s Azimio party’s hefty payment to Diamond?
