SCIENTIST URGES ZAMBIANS TO REJECT GMO POLICY

Agricultural Economist and Scientist, Dr. Edify Hamukale has called on Zambians to reject the proposed draft national policy on Genetically Modified Organisms- GMOs.
The GMO draft is scheduled for national validation on 16th June, 2022, and will see a shift in the country’s position from protection to promotion of GMOs.
Hamukale tells Byta FM News that once validated, there will be an increase in the use of agrochemicals, leading to contamination of many food sources, among other things.
