DR M’MEMBE EULOGIZE LATE GEORGE MPOMBO

Socialist Party (SP) President Dr Fred M’membe has expressed deep sadness at the death of former Defense Minister Hon George Wello Mpombo.
The SP leader has described the late Mpombo as a great teacher, entertainer, agitator, and mobiliser for the most just, fair, and humane of causes adding that he was a great national hero and his legacy will live on.
In a statement, Dr M’membe said it is unbelievable that the man of big, bombastic words and great courage, George Mpombo, is no more and that we will hear no new big, bombastic, and courageous words from him anymore!
He stated that death is bad, and it wreaks havoc on families, changes lives, and history forever, quoting the writings of Lao Tzu that “a man with outward courage dares to die; a man with inner courage dares to live.”
Dr M’membe has said Mpombo lived his life fully.
“George’s life and death teaches us that if you live your entire life in fear and worry, you cannot live your life fully. You’re unable to be fully joyful, have peace of mind or even help others to the full extent. Despite some material, financial, and all sorts of deprivations, George lived his life fully,” he stated.
“To laugh often and much, to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of many; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world better than you found it is a great delight. Rest in peace, my friend.”
