“Former President Lungu shouldn’t be regarded as a father of the nation because he allowed tribal messages during campaigns and would have arrested Bally had he won” , says Simon Mwewa

He writes…..

SHOULD PRESIDENT LUNGU BE REGARDED AS THE FATHER OF THE NATION?

The short answer is “NO”…Let me explain.

During the run up to the General-Elections, President Lungu’s surrogates [ Ba Kambwil, Ba Davis Mwila and Innocent Kalimanshi ] were all preaching a brand of tribal politics that threatened to divide this country.

After such a tribal campaign message, assuming President Lungu won…how would he have held the country together? How can a President allow the message of tribalism to be preached and then attempt to preach ONENESS after winning?

Had the PF won in 2021, HH would be in prison by now on trumped up charges and Tongas would have been victimised for merely being TONGA.

So in conclusion…President Lungu should NOT be referred to as THE FATHER OF THE NATION….but rather “THE FORMER HEAD OF STATE.
