BREAKING: Elon Musk has put more than $445 million into winning the midterms for Republicans

One man. Nearly half a billion dollars. A single election.

New FEC filings show Musk gave another $77 million to his America PAC in just the first half of October. His total this cycle is now past $445 million, more than George Soros, Jeffrey Yass or Richard Uihlein. Few donors in American history have come close.

Look at where it is landing:

America PAC has spent $71 million backing Republican candidates, mostly in Senate races in Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Maine.

$33.1 million has gone into the Texas Senate race between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico.

$9.4 million is backing Jon Husted against Sherrod Brown in Ohio.

$8.6 million is backing Mike Rogers against Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan.

Then there is Texas. In September, Musk gave $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, which then sent the same amount to a Texas super PAC backing Paxton. As New York Times reporter Teddy Schleifer put it:

“All money is fungible, yeah. But Elon Musk, indirectly, financed Texas PAC for Paxton.”

That Texas PAC has now spent $181 million on this one race since September 11.

It is happening while Democrats hold a steady lead on the generic congressional ballot. Musk’s money has helped give Republicans a major fundraising advantage in a year when the polling points the other way.

Ask what a man puts $445 million into an election to get. This is the same Musk who sits on a government contracting empire and who has already shown he wants a say in who runs Washington. When one billionaire can fund an entire Senate race from his own account, the question is who those senators will answer to.

Half a billion dollars is not a donation. It is a down payment.- Really American
