Elon Musk to Robert Reich: Prison for Stealing Companies

Robert Reich is out there openly calling for Democrats to seize SpaceX and Starlink if they win control of Congress. In his own words, he wants them laying the groundwork to nationalize both companies and turn them into public corporations. Not regulate. Not compete. Take them.

Elon Musk’s response was short and clear. “Stealing companies is a serious crime. Prison for Reich.”

This is the same Robert Reich who has spent years attacking Musk for building rockets that actually fly, satellites that actually work, and cars that actually sell. Now that Musk helped elect Trump and went after wasteful government spending, the mask is off. The plan is punishment by expropriation.

Reich’s recent Substack piece, titled Defund Musk, already laid out the softer version of the same agenda: cancel the contracts, break up the companies, slap on a wealth tax, and boycott everything. Nationalization is just the logical next step once Democrats control the votes. They are not hiding it. They are advertising it.

SpaceX is the company NASA had to call when its own systems could not bring astronauts home. Starlink is the network Ukraine’s military has relied on when other systems failed. Both were built by private capital and private engineers, not by a federal bureaucracy. The left’s answer is to seize the assets because the owner backed the wrong political side.

Every business owner in America should take note. If they can nationalize the company that dominates launch and satellite internet because its founder is politically inconvenient, they can come for anyone. This is not policy. It is a shakedown dressed up as public interest.

Musk is right. Taking private property because you dislike the owner is a crime. The people pushing it should face consequences, not applause.
