ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, CHISHIMBA DRAGS ZESCO TO COURT
…We Need Electricity Now
Politician and former Lawmaker Saviour Chishimba says he is taking ZESCO to court so it can explain how much power it generates and how it is distributed:
The former Kasama Lawmaker says:
We shall be taking a court action against ZESCO as first respondent and IDC as second respondent. Specifically, we shall seek an order of mandamus to compel ZESCO to tell the nation how much electricity is produced and how it’s distributed. We need our electricity NOW!! Enough is enough!

True, ZESCO has been too secretive about the power distribution and this move will help in transparency. We cant be greedy and export he little electricity leaving Citizens in the dark. When people ask the answer is always “Jam tomorrow.” Let us serve the people first.
To me I see ZESCO deliberately loadshedding us even when it can be better. We need an independent utility body to determine how much ZESCO is generating against our national demand.
They are just decampaigning sitting government.
If Saviour Chishimba had any sense, he would spend the money on solar energy equipment instead of paying a lawyer to argue his case in court. By the time the matter is decided, it will perhaps be December 2026 by which time so much would very probably have happened. The 2025/26 rainy season is looking more promising than anything we hv seen in the last 20 years.
But we all know what is causing electricity challenges.Hydro-power has failed us on this source of energy due to poor rain we have been experiencing.Zesco supplies power by using hydro energy. The distribution variation could be attributed to:-
* Emergency demands like hospitals, airport, security concerns, and other reasons which I may refer as self explained circumstances.
* Cost of separating lines to exclude non emergency individuals or institutions from emergency related places.
* Highly populated areas and lowly populated areas this explanation is about distribution of transformers. The densely populated areas have more transformers where isolations of lines in load shedding situations may be tricky, the situation of opportunity fairness fails.Zesco must explain well on these matters to avoid the feelings of being sidelined. The courts are usually given work which they sometimes reach at cross roads, in Lozi they say “mangandandila” meaning turn right or left or the other route.
Yes,this suit is frivolous..And where has this confused chap emerged from.Back from hibernating into the rainy season to catch Tu nakapelele
