Evading Accountability

Tricks to evade accountability are in high gear. We should be alert with the current on-goings at both the Ministry of Finance and the National Audit Office.

We should also scrutinize the allegations being peddled by a former employee against HER former colleagues.

Her claims that millions were stolen through unearned allowances processed through fictitious accounts were vigorously investigated but proven false at the time the former Secretary to Treasury was being removed.

It is for this reason that letters of dismissals have been withdrawn and fresh letters of redeployment through Public Service Management Division ( PSMD) have been writen.

We should recognise a scheme by State House, yes State House, to use the situation as an excuse to put their own people to evade future accountability…

But if public funds have been stolen, we must ensure that the law takes it course and recovery be made.

Therefore this matter is far complex than the bits and pieces we are being given to manipulate and fuel public opinion to create villains and heroes.

There is a high-level game at play.

But what I can tell you is that Corruption is as high or worse than it was before. The Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index ( CPI) and other reports are a testament to these assertions.

Good night family.
God bless our country.
God bless Zambia.
