EZRA’S DECISION TO WITHDRAW NRPUP FROM ELECTIONS IS WISDOM
Mr. Ezra, the President of NRPUP, has realized that his party was hijacked by PF and probably used for political survival.
Reacting to this development, he withdrew his party from the Tonse Alliance completely.
However, it is surprising that PF members in TONSE still want to contest elections under a party which is no longer in an alliance with Tonse. Honestly, this is scary and it doesn’t make sense.
This is why the withdrawal of NRPUP from participating in any future elections is a clear message to those who want to take advantage of the party for political survival. It is wisdom.
As president of the party, he is keeping his former PF associates “at arm’s length” – meaning he is avoiding them, not trusting them fully, and maintaining a professional distance to avoid being compromised.
Ezra has his fears. Otherwise his party appears to be hijacked by some elements from PF who may cause him trouble hence his actions. He is uncomfortable. For him it is better to distance himself from such characters – these guys are dangerous.
Currently, maintaining distance is the best approach for Ezra. NRPUP is committed to collaborating with the ruling party to promote reconciliation and unity. This reflects true leadership and wisdom..
There is a lot at stake at the moment than just politics. It is better to avoid being implicated in PF’s suspected illegal activities. Under normal circumstances no sane person would want to continue working with JJ, Lily, and others including the treason suspects? At least not now, maybe in the future. This is wisdom.

Earlier, we read in social media that Muhabi Lungu was appointed Tonse Alliance General Secretary by Mundubile and later Muhabi was addressing a meeting where he announced participation by Tonse in the bye-elections, with other alliance partners present but clearly there was no NRPUP party President, Ezra Tembo, in attendance. Not surprising it has come to this.
