Failed chidyelano ends in suicide for Solwezi man
A 36-year-old man of Solwezi District in Northwestern Province has ended his own life after failing to implement Chidyelano on his twin brother’s wife.
Chidyelano is custom popularised in the Eastern Province whereby men illegally partake of the blessings of the skirt of another man’s wife.
In this incident, Roy Mulonga also known as Twin G of Kikombe area of Solwezi district is said to have spent the day prior to the fateful day chewing all manner of roots and concoctions arming his instruments of power for some a pleasure ride on his twin brothers wife.
However, on the fateful day, Mulonga with his instruments of power hard and pointing like a North Korean missile launched on his sister in law but alas she rejected his manoeuvres on chidyelano naming it as adultery and rape and promised to report him to his brother.
Fearing blows, axe beatings from his brother and embarrassment of attempted rape, Mulonga opted to take his life.
North-western province deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr Fred Mulenga told ZANIS that the incident occurred on Friday around 20:00 hours and was later reported by the father to the victim, Ezekiel Mulonga aged 60 years.
