FORMER CHIEF JUSTICE ANNEL SILUNGWE SC DIES
The Government of the Republic of Zambia regrets to inform Members of the public of the death of Hon. Mr. Justice Annel Silungwe, SC, Former Chief Justice.
The Former Chief Justice, aged 88 years, died yesterday on Sunday, 30th June, 2024 at the Coptic Hospital in Lusaka, after an illness.
Hon. Justice Silungwe had a long and illustrious career in the Judiciary spanning decades and was the country’s first indigenous Chief Justice. He also served as Minister for Legal Affairs and Attorney General.
Funeral gathering for the Late Former Chief Justice is being held at his Farm, No. 16671/ M, Mukamambo Road, Ndeke Farming Block, Chongwe District, Lusaka Province.
Cabinet Office is working in collaboration with the family of the Late Hon. Justice Annel Silungwe on the burial arrangements.
Members of the public are further advised that a detailed funeral programme will be released once Government and the family conclude the burial programme.
