We were honoured to receive one of the great African statesmen, Former South African President Thabo Mbeki, this afternoon at State House.

President Mbeki is in the country to deliver the inaugural lecture for our former President the late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and paid us a courtesy call ahead of his speech.

We have a lot to learn from our elderly statesmen who have so much wisdom and knowledge around the development of our continent. His famous speech, “I am an African” is still admired by students from the UCT to Evelyn Hone.

We wished him well during his stay in Zambia.

Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic of Zambia
