Geran-2 Drone Wreckage Found After Strike on Kyiv School
Wreckage recovered from the damaged school appears consistent with a Russian Geran-2 one-way attack drone, a system derived from Iran’s Shahed-136.
The debris bears Cyrillic markings associated with the Geran series, while its composite construction is consistent with the type of drones widely used by Russia in long-range attacks against Ukraine.
The strike damaged the school’s third floor, walls, windows and doors. Children and teachers were sheltering inside during the attack, and no injuries were reported.
The exact circumstances of the impact remain unclear. The wreckage alone cannot determine whether the drone reached the target directly or was affected by electronic warfare or air-defense activity.
