GERMANY ANNOUNCES NEW PATRIOT MISSILE DELIVERIES TO UKRAINE
Germany will transfer additional PAC-2 Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine, taking them from the Bundeswehr’s own military stocks, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced during the latest meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format.
Pistorius also called on other member states to examine their own air-defense inventories and consider making similar contributions to Ukraine.
The German announcement comes as Kyiv continues to seek additional air-defense capabilities to protect its cities, critical infrastructure and military positions against Russian missile and drone attacks.
The exact number of PAC-2 interceptors Germany plans to transfer has not been disclosed.
The appeal to other countries could place additional pressure on European allies to contribute from their existing Patriot inventories, particularly as Ukraine faces continuing concerns over the availability of air-defense interceptors ahead of the winter period.
🇩🇪🇺🇦 Berlin’s latest commitment underscores Germany’s continued role as one of Ukraine’s key suppliers of air-defense systems and ammunition.
