EVENTS ON THE DEATH OF OUR CHEF, GODFREY NGULUBE

Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre wishes to send its heartfelt condolences to the family of the departed Godfrey Ngulube who until his sudden death was one of our chefs.

Ngulube reportedly died on Monday, February 6, 2023 after drowning in a river at his home. During this period, the deceased had taken his annual leave.

The company regrets the incident and is deeply sorry for the painful loss.

In extension, the Hotel management regrets the inconveniences caused to our esteemed clients and partners following the unexpected misunderstandings the company had with the bereaved family Tuesday afternoon.

Angry relatives ended up dumping the dead body in a coffin at the hotel’s reception. This was despite their failure to properly communicate the death for the company to provide logistical arrangements for the burial.

In the process, the relatives understood the required processes they needed to take; resulting in mutual consensus and our support towards according the deceased a befitting burial.

We hope for continued cordial business working relationship and understanding with all.

May Godfrey Ngulube’s soul rest in eternal peace!
