GOVERNMENT EMBARKS ON PROJECT TO SET UP SOLAR POWER KIOSKS IN LUSAKA AND LUAPULA PROVINCES
The Ministry of Local Government has embarked on a project to set up solar power kiosks in Lusaka and Luapula provinces.
In Lusaka, the respective kiosks will be set up in Chawama and Bauleni compounds, while in Luapula province, Lunga district will benefit.
The solar kiosks will offer charging stations and WIFI connectivity as well as water supply.
Ministry Permanent Secretary Technical Services, NICHOLAS PHIRI says the pilot project will offer clean energy solutions for sustainable local development.
Mr PHIRI says the project will be financed through a grant from United Nations Capital Development Fund.
The Permanent Secretary has disclosed in Lusaka when he opened the training of trainers workshop on Clean Energy Solutions for sustainable local development.
