GOVERNMENT MUST INQUEST VICTOR CHIRWA’S DEATH AND PROSECUTE RESPONSIBLE OFFICERS.
The death of Mr.Victor Chirwa cannot go unanswered by all accounts. This young pharmacist left behind an equally young wife after just being married for only 7 months.
As much as the Police have a right to investigate any crime, this painful death could have been prevented. Mr. Victor Chirwa’s death was cruel, reckless and senseless to say the least.
As Golden Party of Zambia (GPZ), we are at pains to interpret the Governments silence over this emotive issue. The silence by Government has added to the pain of the widow and the family at large.
Thus we call on President Hichilema and his administration to set up an inquest to interrogate fully what led to the cruel death of this young, vibrant professional. Police officers who will be found wanting must be prosecuted.
The inquest will also provide an opportunity for Mr. Chirwa’s widow, family, friends, colleagues and the Nation the very much needed closure and face the future with a semblance of direction.
