MASEBO ON RECRUITMENT
Health Minister Sylvia Masebo says government will this month start the recruitment process of 11, 200 health personal.
Ms. Masebo says government will this month be advertising for jobs for all medical personnel.
She says a circular will be released soon and advised health workers who are working on voluntary basis to apply for the jobs.
And Ms. Masebo has implored health workers to work hard and improve the delivery of health care in the country.
The Minister said she is aware of the challenges that health workers are faced with, such as old infrastructure and lack of drugs, but was quick to mention that government is working to improve the situation.
Ms. Masebo also cautioned health personnel to use proper methods of communication when aggrieved than rushing to social media.
She said this in Katete district, Eastern Province, shortly before she conducted a familiarization tour of St. Francis hospital.
And, St. Francis Senior Medical Superintendant, Lalik Banda, told the Minister that the hospital is in urgent need of medical personnel.
Dr. Banda said the hospital receives a lot of patients, some from the neighboring Mozambique.
He also said there is need to decentralize the blood back, as it deals with a lot of emergencies such as accidents.
