Hakainde’s nomination attracts 10 million followers

An estimated 10 million people from various media platforms followed the election filing in process, of Zambia’s UPND President Hakainde Hichilema yesterday. Multiple analytic experts that monitored the proceedings that took an unprecedented 2 hours, say they evaluated data from several on line media infrastructure which they computed, and figures of followers were fluctuating between 9.5m to 10.1m for a period of 2 hours.
“This was a remarkable feat that demonstrated the prowess of social media, which we must all agree can no longer be underestimated”, said Thomas Dylan from Summerstrand Analytics, who monitored from Kimberly in the Western Cape Pronvince of South Africa.
Dylan added that the figures could have been much higher had Zambian TV networks opened up to the event, that attracted thousands of others that swarmed the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in the capital Lusaka.
