HEALTH MINISTRY PS DEMANDS USD10 MILLION FROM NEWS DIGGERS

Embattled Permanent Secretary for Administration in the Ministry of Health, Christopher Simoonga has demanded 10 million US dollars from News Diggers newspapers and its journalist for defamation.
This is in relation to the newspaper’s writings about the awarding of a $6.8 million contract to a company linked to the PS.
The contract involves the implementation of an HIV/AIDS prevention program.
Allegations are that Simoonga awarded the contract to Chreso University, where he serves as Vice Chancellor, raising concerns about a potential conflict of interest.
