FRESH GRADUATES BE READY FOR LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS

Health Professions Council of Zambia [HPCZ] has won the licensure examinations matter at initial stage.

In summary, the Judge has dismissed the Application for Leave to Commence Judicial Review with costs, invariably on the basis that the Applicants did not exhaust the alternative and/or all available remedies before applying for leave to commence judicial review as they ought to have first appealed HPCZ’s decision to the Minister.

In June this year, Dr. Brian Sampa and medical students took HPCZ to court challenging the Council’s authority to reintroduce/conduct professional Licensure Examinations.

So young doctors, what the Judge is telling you is that don’t rush to court before you exhaust procedure!
He has not said HPCZ is right. He has simply said exhaust the matter with the Health Minister now that Sampa the clueless one is out of the picture.
The case has simply been dismissed and not determined!
