HH I can work in any other position – Ben Phiri
… if not PS

Ben Phiri, who served for only 10 days as permanent secretary before his appointment was revoked by late president Michael Sata, says he is ready to serve on any other position including on the commissions and in the foreign missions.

In another written statement to Daily Revelation, Phiri stated that in the “landmark” election that ushered the UPND into office, President Hakainde Hichilema repeatedly “told us that all those of us who were unfairly dismissed by the former regime would be reinstated.”

  1. What is wrong with Ben Phiri? He was not dismissed from Government, but had his appointment revoked by President Sata. Sata, in his usual disorganised self, sometimes used to make appointments or policy decisions without consulting his advisors and then, when found wanting, would reverse those decisions. The appointment of Ben Phiri to the senior position of Permanent Secretary was hastily done by Sata with the appointed candidate not being vetted by the intelligence service. When the vetting was actually done, Sata realised that he had made a grave mistake based on the appointee’s own character. Ben, you need to reflect on your behavioral patterns and general character in your past roles as a comedian and master of ceremonies at various events and truly accept that a Presidential appointee to the position of Permanent Secretary requires that the candidate has a sober character that is above board. Need I say more? Drop your claims to the position as the current President has been more meticulous in selecting his apointees. You perhaps would have had a chance during the period of chaotic appointments under Edgar Lungu

  3. Ba Ben Phiri, please find something else to do and earn a living. You look like many of us who are retired but somehow eke out a livelihood. I was one of those who were forced to retire from a very high profile job in 2006 because of name but just moved on and lead a happier life.
