HH JOINS OTHER AFRICAN LEADERS AT AU
Fellow citizens,
We are in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia participating in the 36th Ordinary Session of The Assembly of the African Union, whose theme is “The Year of AfCFTA: Acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area Implementation”.
The 36th Ordinary Session of the AU comes 60 years after the birth of the Organisation of the African Unity(OAU) and 20 years of the African Union(AU).
We are among many other matters considering, the draft agenda, draft decisions and declarations of the Assembly for adoption, that was submitted by the 42nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council held prior to the Summit, and also examining the strategic status reports on the Institutional Reforms of the AU.
The Session will also study the activities of the Peace and Security Council (PSC), the Report on Global Political, Financial and Energy Policy Governance, and that on Global Food Crisis and the AU’s response on pandemic in Africa.
We will further hold bileteral talks with fellow Heads of State and also conduct sideline meetings with various business leaders, cooperating partners and stakeholders in Zambia and the African Continent’s Transformational Agenda.
