President Hakainde Hichilema says while the 2022 national budget is being debated in parliament, government is already working on modalities that will ensure effective implementation with strict monitoring mechanisms.

President Hichilema says monitoring and control measures will ensure that the public resources are spent for the intended purposes thereby avoiding any financial pilferage in the public sector.
The head of state was speaking last night at Kenneth Kaunda international airport before leaving for the United Kingdom to attend the cop26 world leaders’ summit in Glasgow, Scotland at the invitation of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Meanwhile President Hichilema who has disclosed that government will soon release a report on how public resources were spent in the previous regime has warned against extravagant spending of public resources by those in government.

The head of state says time is over for misuse of public resources as every dollar or kwacha available must be channeled towards the greater good of the people of Zambia.
