Are you the presidential spokesman? Or just another hunger striken fool who is hoping Lungu will give you a brown envelope for discharging lies?
Mr. Chisanga UPND will stay in power as long as the opposition can not offer a viable alternative. What you state is the obivious. That is the aim of any political party. In doing so, they promise to adhere to the law. Not circumvent with what you as PF did in your attempt to enact “Bill 10”. They demonstrate to us what they will do and are doing to address the issues that plaugue the nation.
What do you spend your time doing? Try some introspect and address the internal issues of PF and its factions. If can not unify a party, then how do you unify a nation, with your divisive message and empty rethoric? This is why you are now “FORMER MP” dispite stroking your ego with the title of MCC to backup your empty utterances. Nasheni ukulanda, bombeni tu mone
Ba Chisanga naimwe, where have you ever found a President who just wakes up and starts changing the laws or the constitution? Changing the constitution always starts with Con Review Commissions because without that, HH cannot change any law even if he wants to perpetuate his stay in power. However I n some countries where instability had caused a lot of havoc, people themselves and not the president decide to continue with the current the Leader for the sake of peace and stability in the country. Some of the examples are East African countries of Rwanda and Uganda. In Rwanda, President Kagame has managed to stabilize that country after the historic genocide and people have given him the mandate to remain in power until 2034, whether there will be voting for formality or not. In Uganda, a similar situation is there, people through the MPs and not the president gave president Museveni an unlimited term of office, he can stand as long as he lives, which as good as being the life president. I remember when that law was being debated and finally passed, there was terrible fighting in the Ugandan Parliament, chairs were flying in all directions turning the Speaker into a spectator, the fight was beyond his ability to stop it. It can also happen in Zambia, Zimbabwe or any other country if the people so wish. For example, Syrian rebels, if that is the right word to use, have just ousted Bashar-Al Assad and people are tired of war, they want peace so that they start leading normal lives again. If the new leaders manage to stabilize the country to the satisfaction of the people, they can allow them to stay even for more than ten years. Right now, Ukraine, Gaza, Lebanon and Sudan are all engulfed in war, Mozambique is slowly descending into political unrest, we briefly saw it in Kenya and South Africa also. So these and many more, are some of the reasons which prompt people to cling to some leaders when they manage to restore peace and stability. Having said that, I don’t necessarily mean that it should or it will happen in Zambia no, but it can’t be ruled out either because it’s something people can just abruptly decide to do. For example, HH has struggled to restructure the huge unsustainable debt he inherited from PF, he has opened old and new mines, revived and opened some old and new industries. For good three years, he has maintained the exchange rate between k20 and k28. A lot of measures are in place to mitigate the high cost of living, free education is there etc. Suppose at the end of his second term, HH manages to unite the country of which he has already, manages to lower the high cost of living and on overall manages to fix the economy, it will be up to the Zambian people to decide whether to let him rest or continue with him. So on one side, it’s always the people who decide and not the president or some selfish politicians. Peace and stability are very important for any meaningful socio-economic development of any country because no investor would come or want to invest in a war torn country. No tourist can leave his peaceful country to go and visit a war torn country. Then on the other side, the leader and the party in power determine their stay in power through their performance.
You should therefore stop worrying about HH changing any law, people will do it if that will be their wish. Moreover, for someone who has just been in power for three can seriously start changing laws in order to perpetuate his stay in power. But HH will be there up to 2031, I am very optimistic that Zambians will give him another term, thereafter, others will take over.
The ghost of Bill 10 is haunting ba George Chisanga. HH has no intention of going beyond the maximum ten year constitutional mandate and if he tries to tamper with that, we will resist him fiercely like we did with Bill 10 and all other presidents who tried to go beyond the constitutional ten years term limit.
So stop making baseless allegations ba Chisanga wesu.
BaChisanga behaving and talking like bwamba twisting facts makes you just as much a pfidiot. You and your f have been wanting for your failed chagwa to rule for more than 10yrs now you twist that to HH 7, how,?
HH is not like who started signing constitutions without any mandate believing he would score some terms. Now he can’t believe that everyone saw exactly what he was doing. And it all came down tumbling. He doesn’t know what to do. The best he can do is surrender and give back what he stole.
