HIGH COURT JUDGE KENNETH MULIFE SUED FOR DEFAMATION
A former Judicial Service Commission JCC research advocate Bright Kaluba has sued High Court Judge Kenneth Mulife for alleged defamation of character.
In his statement of claim, the plaintiff has also accused the judge of instructing him to prepare judgements in advance, prior to parties appearing before him for trial, and before filing their submission, so that he could deliver judgements within an hour or so soon after sitting.
He says upon observing how unconventional and unprofessional the instructions regarding work were flowing within the judge’s chambers, in May 2022, the plaintiff planned to launch a complaint to his immediate supervisor telephonically as the said supervisor was available on phone, but his phone went unanswered on several occasions.
Mr. Kaluba further says that after he lodged a complaint against justice Mulife, the judge complained against him directly to the chief administrator alleging gross miscount, absence and under performance which led to him being charged and consequently suspended.
