HIS MAJESTY MPEZENI IV SAFE AFTER ROAD ACCIDENT

CHIPATA Mayor George Mwanza says His Majesty Ngwenyama Inkhosi Yama Nkhosi Mpezeni IV is safely back at Ephendukeni Palace in Chipata after being involved in a road accident. The incident took place on the evening of Saturday, October 12, 2024, near Chakolwa Game Camp along the Mwanya-Nabwalya road. His Majesty was returning from the Malaila traditional ceremony of the Bisa people in Nabwalya, Muchinga Province.
Mayor Mwanza stated that the vehicle, a dark-grey Hilux, overturned, causing damage to the windscreen and sides. Emergency responders, including officers from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife, swiftly arrived at the scene to secure His Majesty and his team.
His Majesty, along with the driver, a returner, and an Induna, were fully assessed by medical experts from both Mambwe District Hospital and Chipata Central Hospital as a precautionary measure. Thankfully, all individuals involved are out of danger and in good health.
“We rushed to the accident scene and were well assisted by officers from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife who reached the site earlier and secured His Majesty and team. All the people on board are completely out of danger and well,” said Mayor Mwanza.
