I am not defecting to the UPND
I have been inundated with calls from people asking me about reports that I am due to defect to the UPND during His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema’s current visit to the Copperbelt.
I have also been made of some social media posts that President Hichilema is to receive me as a new member of the UPND today at some event in Kabushi Constituency.
I wish to place it on record that there are no such intentions and I remain a very committed and loyal member of the Patriot Front. The programme for the presidential tour is well tabulated and he is not visiting Kabushi.
Those purveyors of such lies should desist from tarnishing the image of the Head of State and bringing his name into disrepute.
Why should the President visit and hold meetings in Kabushi, a PF heavily controlled Constituency with all the eight Councillors belonging to the PF when the UPND has its own Constituencies in Ndola that it fully controls?
My five year mandate to represent the good people of Kabushi is still Intact and I have no intentions of short circuiting this grand opportunity.
