Hon. Kampamba Mulenga writes…
I DID NOT VOTE IN FAVOR OF BILL 7 DESPITE BEING PRESENT IN PARLIAMENT
I wish to clearly and unequivocally address the ongoing public discussion surrounding Bill 7.
Contrary to misinformation circulating on social media, I did not vote in favour of Bill 7, despite being present in Parliament. My position has always been guided by the will, interests, and concerns of the people I represent.
I remain firmly loyal to the people of Zambia, and more particularly to the people of Kalulushi, who entrusted me with the responsibility to serve them.
My conscience and duty compel me to stand with the people at all times, especially on matters that directly affect their democratic rights and future.
Let me reaffirm that I am, first and foremost, a servant of the people. My actions in Parliament are informed by consultation, accountability, and the voices of the citizens I represent.
I will continue to engage openly, honestly, and transparently with the people of Kalulushi and Zambia at large, and I remain committed to safeguarding their interests without fear or favour.
Hon. Kampamba Mulenga
Member of Parliament
For kalulushi constituency

Well said but if 135 voted “Yes” 0 voted “No” and no one abstained but you were there in parliament, then the only explanation that will stand is you did registered your presence there.
Ba mulenga, you are blowing hot and cold. If you need to be a politician, then be consistent. Announcing that you didn’t vote for the bill may help you or sink you. In this case, you will be labeled enemy of the people. You may fail to win the elections. Your best chance is standing as an independent or on UPND. UPND will carry this momentum with them.
Anyway, with gratuity, you should be OK outside politics
No need to sound apologetic. Those PF MPs who voted Yes for Bill 7 did the nation good. They ignored the immature party politics and decided to do their patriotic duty.
There is hope for Zambia.
Ba Hon. Kampamba, I think you are better off to keep quiet than talking. As a woman with dignity, if you spent a night with a man, probably sharing the same bed and blankets, then in the morning you tell people that the night went without doing anything. it’s very difficult to convince anyone with that kind of report especially your husband if you are married. You should have walked out like Hon. Sampa or should have come in open like Hon. Binwell Mpundu.
