I DODGED MY FRIEND AT A BAR TO BREAK INTO HIS HOUSE – MILAMBO
A 27-year-old Farmer of Monze’s Manungu Compound has admitted to leaving the bar early so he could break into his drinking mate’s house and steal various household items altogether valued at K2, 160.
Appearing before the Monze Subordinate Court was Gift Milambo, who stood charged with Burglary and Theft after he stole a mattress, an adapter and K300 cash, property of Luka Hankanga.
Milambo is said to have committed the offence on 18th December, 2022, a charge to which he pleaded guilty.
Facts before the court are that Hankanga locked his home in Water Affairs Compound around 16:00 hours and went to drink beer at ‘Munzi Corner’ with some colleagues, among them Milambo.
While at the bar, Milambo disappeared around 23:00 hours without saying a word to anyone.
Hankanga returned home at 04:00 hours, only to find his front door had been forced open, with various items in his house observed to be missing.
The complainant traced foot prints within the yard, which led him to the Milambo’s house, who was later reported to Police and apprehended.
Magistrate Valentine Mukuka adjourned the matter to 17th February, 2023.
