IF I WERE PRESIDENT – Simon Mwewa
I would restore the dignity of the Zambian Police Uniform.
I would make it difficult for Cadres to infiltrate and dilute the effectiveness of the police service.
Right now, a cadre has more power than a police officer with a gun. Cadres can smoke marijuana at political rallies in full view of the police and they won’t be arrested. Military regalia has been banned but Cadres still wear them in full view of the Police. Why?
If I were President, the police would regain control of our streets…any cadre caught controlling traffic would be arrested and charged with impersonating an officer of the law.
If I were President, each street would be assigned two armed officers for the purpose of patrol, surveillance and public safety.
