If PF won 2021 elections, we’d have had a civil war, says Kapata
FORMER LANDS Minister Jean Kapata says had the Patriotic Front-PF won the 2021 general elections, Zambia would have had a civil war.
She says God intervened in 2021 and asked the PF to let the UPND take over so they could see how difficult it was to lead a nation.
Kapata who gave a short speech in support of lawyer Makebi Zulu’s party presidency, started speaking after singing, “Chivote vote twaimwena fwebene”, a song denoting Zambians were now regretting voting for the UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema.
She insinuated that had the UPND lost 2021 elections, they would have ignited a civil war in Zambia.
She thanks God that he allowed PF to step aside leadership to allow the UPND see for themselves how not so easy it was to lead a nation.
“Nabaimwena, ukuteka ichalo temangalo iyo,” Kapata said adding that, Zambians should be careful as they vote for a leader next year.
In speaking in support of Makebi Zulu’s PF presidency bid, Kapata said Zulu should be voted for because he stood by late president Edgar Lungu’s family in trying times.
She said a lot claimed to love the late former president but never went to the extent Makebi did in protecting and being with the bereaved Lungu family.

If PF had won the 2021 elections, this time there could have no Zambia to talk about. Zambia’s economy had totally collapsed, there was debt defaulting and excessive borrowing accumulating a huge mountain of unsustainable debt. Now that Hakainde has successfully restructured it, the same people want to come back and take us back to ubomba mwibala era. I don’t think we can allow that to happen again, we love our country so much.
Yes, if PF had rigged the 2021 elections, civil war would have broken out. They tried but failed. Mr. Kapyongo prepared well for the civil unrest. He bought those hippo riot trucks and armed the police with automatic weapons. By divine intervention, PF lost convincingly and not a shot was fired.
If PF had prevailed in 2021, Zambia would be in utter ruin. The difficulties we are going through are an integral part of the reconstruction process after the extensive damage that PF caused the country.
Bringing PF back would be like taking two steps forward and five steps backwards, dununa reverse.
Sorry I cannot vote for anybody ” because he stood by late president Edgar Lungu’s family in trying times.” I will only for someone who can work for Zambia, not any former president, dead or alive. Problem with PF they think ruling is difficult, so just sit, borrow and steal. UPND has shown them that you can work on the economy. Wait for 2026, that will be the start of testing the PF.
Yes there could have been a Civil War had UPND lost.
But they will lose in 2026, and will be sent into the Archives..There won’t be any Civil War..or any claim of Tribal Hatred.
